Gareth is Programme Manager for Earth Security’s pioneering project to develop a mangrove bond in South East Queensland.
He currently lives amongst a rich mangrove ecosystem on Kenya’s northern coast, and has seen first hand the important role they play in protecting coastlines and communities. With a background in sustainability leadership and masters in international development, Gareth is passionate about helping leaders and their organisations embrace new regenerative business models that learn from and respect nature.
Prior to Earth Security, Gareth worked for 3 years at a impact advisory organisation specialising in bioeconomy and regenerative agriculture, where he was charged with delivering impact projects with potential for scale and replication.
Gareth’s vision while based in Kenya is to start up a seaweed farming cooperative, providing new opportunities for the community to protect and restore its local environment.
