The Philippines is one of the five countries most vulnerable to long-term climate changes and extreme weather, which will have devastating effects on communities, businesses and investments.

Natural ecosystems present the first line of defence against extreme weather events. Building or restoring vibrant ecosystems – such as forest, coastal mangroves or watersheds – and integrating such green infrastructures into business models, is essential to making the Philippines resilient to climate change.

In this report, we present four business innovation models that corporations and banks can adopt to significantly increase disaster preparedness and response, based on strengthening natural ecosystems.
